Virtual Texas Healthcare and Bioscience Policy Summit, June 18th
As the leading health policy voice in the state, THBI has been influencing legislation that has led to economic investment and medical breakthroughs for over 20 years. Austin Community College awarded a National Biotechnology Center, named InnovATEBIO, through a $7.5 million grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF). 
The funding is to develop a new national biotechnology education center to address the rapidly growing need for highly skilled technicians in biotechnology. The InnovATEBIO center will consolidate several biotech education projects into a national network to share best practices and expand research opportunities for students at two-year institutions.
